Blue Topaz is the birthstone for December. The name topaz comes from the Sanskrit and means fire. Ancients prized Topaz as a stone of divine majesty. The Greeks believed it had the power to increase strength and make the wearer invisible, while the Romans believed it had the power to improve eyesight.
